N457BN was Initially delivered to Braniff in 1978, It was painted in the iconic Dallas Cowboys livery, and 1990 converted into a freighter for FedEx.

The Boeing 727 first took off to the skies in 1963 and quickly became a staple for commercial airlines worldwide. Known for its distinctive tri-jet configuration with an engine on each side of the rear fuselage and one in the tail, the B727 was designed for efficiency and performance on shorter, regional routes.

Braniff Airways, founded in 1930, was a trailblazing American airline known for its unique design and innovative approach to air travel. Starting as a regional carrier, it expanded to serve cities across the U.S., Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Braniff set itself apart through bold branding, collaborating with designer Alexander Girard and artist Alexander Calder, who created vibrant, multi-colored aircraft liveries that became iconic. The airline also emphasized a luxurious travel experience, featuring leather seats and stylish uniforms designed by fashion luminaries like Emilio Pucci.

Braniff was an early adopter of ideas that enhanced passenger comfort and style, distinguishing itself from competitors. However, deregulation in the late 1970s put financial pressure on the airline, leading to its eventual shutdown in 1982. Although attempts were made to revive the Braniff brand, none recaptured its original impact, leaving Braniff as a memorable symbol of innovation in aviation history.
