01 What are upcycled aircraft parts?
Upcycled aircraft parts are original materials recovered from retired aircraft and transformed for a new purpose. Aircrafttag preserves selected sections of genuine fuselage skin and turns them into individual aviation collectibles.
02 Are Aircrafttags made from real aircraft parts?
Yes. Aircrafttags are made from genuine exterior fuselage skin recovered from real retired aircraft. The original aircraft metal, paint and traces of service can remain visible on the finished piece.
03 How is aircraft skin transformed into an Aircrafttag?
Selected sections of original fuselage skin are cut into individual pieces and carefully processed in Vienna, Austria. The finished Aircrafttags preserve the original aircraft material while identifying the aircraft they came from.
04 Why upcycle material from retired aircraft?
Retired aircraft contain materials with a unique aviation history. By preserving selected sections of original fuselage skin, part of the aircraft can continue to exist as a collectible instead of disappearing at the end of its flying life.
05 Do Aircrafttags still show the original aircraft paint?
Yes. Depending on the section of fuselage skin, an Aircrafttag can retain original paint, markings, scratches and other traces from its previous life on the aircraft. This means individual pieces can vary in appearance.
06 Can I trace which aircraft the material came from?
Yes. Aircrafttag releases identify the aircraft type and registration associated with the original fuselage material, allowing you to discover the history of the aircraft behind your piece.
