Coaster Boeing 747 - British Airways - G-BYGA

G-BYGA was one of the final Boeing 747-400 ever delivered to British Airways in December 1998, proudly flying it under the British flag.

For several years, G-BYGA stood out from the fleet wearing the distinctive Chelsea Rose tail livery. Like many four engine long-haul aircraft, G-BYGA became a victim of the COVID-19 pandemic, which dramatically accelerated the retirement and storage of the Boeing 747 worldwide.

Yet G-BYGA’s story didn’t end there. After storage, this aircraft went on to write a unique final chapter. It became one of a handful Boeing 747s ever transformed into Aircrafttags, giving aviation enthusiasts the chance to own a genuine piece of jumbo jet history. Its upper deck has been preserved in Manchester, where it remains accessible to the public—allowing future generations to experience the magic of the 747 up close.
