The Boeing 757-200 with the registration P4-EAS was delivered brand new to LTU in 1998. In 2003, it was acquired by Air Astana. Like many other aircraft, this Boeing 757 was grounded at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and remained out of service until it was ultimately scrapped in 2024.

The Boeing 757 was introduced by Boeing in 1983. Designed for short- to medium-haul routes, it is also capable of transatlantic flights. The aircraft features a high-capacity, single-aisle design, with a range of approximately 3,900 nautical miles (7,222 km) and a typical seating capacity of 200–239 passengers. It is powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 engines.
