Delivered to LTU International Airways in 1998, Boeing 757 D-AMUG proudly wore the airline’s iconic red and white livery for many years. LTU was synonymous with quality leisure travel, connecting Germany to sunny destinations around the world. The 757 played a key role in shaping LTU’s image as one of Europe’s most beloved holiday carriers.
In 2003, it was acquired by Air Astana. Like many other aircraft, this Boeing 757 was grounded at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and remained out of service until it was ultimately scrapped in 2024.
The Boeing 757 was introduced by Boeing in 1983. Designed for short- to medium-haul routes, it is also capable of transatlantic flights. The aircraft features a high-capacity, single-aisle design, with a range of approximately 3,900 nautical miles (7,222 km) and a typical seating capacity of 200–239 passengers. It is powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 engines.
